Trafford Green Party relies on a team of committed volunteers who work all year round for our local area - not just during election time. You don't have to be a member of The Green Party to help out, and there’s always an experienced activist to support you as you learn the ropes. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:
Deliveries to residents – delivery of our newsletters and other campaign literature can also involve preparing materials, such as stuffing or labelling envelopes. It usually takes a few hours at a time and our delivery co-ordinators put out calls when we have materials ready to go, organising picking up or dropping off materials to you as convenient.
Reaching local residents – we regularly campaign in our wards, usually on a Saturday, which includes delivering surveys to residents and door-knocking. We work in small groups and circulate the arrangements to our supporters list weekly during the short campaign, and monthly the rest of the year.
Organising our activities – our core team of volunteer activists works behind the scenes to manage all we do, all year round. We have regular meetings, most of which are held virtually, and most of the work can be done in your own time. There various areas of our operations that need diverse skillsets, including (but not limited to):
Creating content, designing and producing campaign literature
Contacting Green Party members about our activities
Developing strategies, policies and campaign messages
Co-ordinating campaigning activities, e.g. deliveries, surveys or door-knocking
Fundraising, communications and social media support
Becoming a local election candidate – Being a Green Party councillor is a rewarding job which can make a real difference to the quality of life in our communities.
