I've lived in Stretford for 15 years and have two children at primary school in the area. I really like the sense of community and the green spaces we have here. We have all appreciated how important these things are for our wellbeing over the past year.
I want to see measures to make walking and cycling around the area more accessible, safer and pleasant. I cycle to work on a daily basis and make nearly all my local journeys on foot or bike, but it's not always easy. The boom in cycling when our streets were quiet showed me just how far we have to go to make active travel accessible.
I think that the Green councillors we have in Trafford have done a great job of helping local people look after their area, and to make sure that the climate change emergency is taken seriously. I know we must urgently do more to look after our environment and biodiversity, as well as to support people and families who are struggling to make their way.
