I have believed for most of my adult life that our societies around the world are harming the environment and as a biology teacher I tried to raise this issue with my students as many times as possible.
In Trafford I feel that the amount of development that is sanctioned by the council is detrimental to the environment in terms of the loss of green areas as exemplified by the proposed housing scheme on Carrington moss. When you couple this with the high level of atmospheric pollution in the borough a green influenced council could definitely do better!
As a grandfather I fear for the world that we bequeathing to the next generations and I believe passionately that the Green Party therefore is the only one with policies that are geared towards bringing about the real changes that will allow us to take positive steps towards a different world before it is too late.
