I have lived in Greater Manchester for 48 years, and in Trafford for seven.
I co-founded a worker co-operative bike shop in Rusholme in 1983 and worked there till 2009. On retirement, I started working as a Bikeability instructor, teaching children in year 6 to ride bikes safely on roads. I am also a volunteer van driver for Fare Share, which distributes surplus food from supermarkets to local food distribution organisations. I believe the bicycle is the transport of the future.
The Green Party expresses best my political aspirations, in their policies, which in summary are to:-
- Save the environment, green our land and protect animal life
- Challenge privilege, end discrimination and champion international friendships
- Liberate our working lives and unleash our creative power
- Embed collective kindness in our society and deliver quality of life for all.
