The Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) originally involved ten councils including our own Trafford Borough Council working together to develop a long term plan for how land will be used throughout Greater Manchester. The plan includes where homes will be built, land for businesses, green spaces, transport infrastucture and so on.
Stockport council voted to no longer work within the framework and instead go ahead and update their own local plan. The remaining nine councils are continuing to work together on a so called "plan of nine" to replace the GMSF. At a recent Trafford Council meeting about the plan, Green councillor Geraldine Coggins continues to speak up for the environment, expressing concern over both the plans to develop Carrington Moss and continued airport expansion.
