Davyhulme Ward Green Party Candidate For Local Elections May 2nd 2024

Kevin Chatterton

I have lived in Urmston with my family for over 30 years and have been active in local campaigns which have included George H Carnell Leisure Centre, the Flixton Green Belt, and saving Trafford General A&E.

The two main parties are devoid of ideas and commitment to tackle the climate emergency. Rather than working with communities on reducing climate emissions, which blight the most vulnerable with respiratory and cardiac illnesses, they backtrack on pledges for Green funding which would create real change, investment and jobs.

I believe in public services and know from personal experience that when fully funded and managed properly, they are more efficient than when just run for profit. It may surprise many that their local services are funded by a foreign private equity firm who fund Amey. A vote for the Greens is no longer a wasted vote as can be seen in six elected Trafford Councillors.

Presently I am privileged to work in the NHS as a Paramedic for North West Ambulance Service and represent my colleagues as a Unison Environment officer and a Health and Safety Rep. Trafford has a proud NHS history and if elected I would advocate for  he retention of current NHS services and also for its expansion into areas such as health promotion.

I have the privilege of standing in the local elections in May as a Green Party Candidate, where if selected will endeavor to give everyone a voice and hold local service providers accountable. Remember pothole repairs are not just for election time! Vote for real change, vote for the Green Party in May!
